Our Mission

We provide integrated services to individuals and families to empower them to overcome challenges, reach their potential and achieve their goals.

The Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House (MFNH) was incorporated in 1902 to support individuals and families in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and surrounding neighborhoods.

Our Impact

The MFNH is home to those looking for a connection between personal, professional, charitable, and fun activities. For over a century, we have provided a fantastic destination where individuals can come together to enjoy extraordinary experiences. From educational advancement to planning life's landmark events — from business to entertainment, charity to recreation — it all starts at The Margaret Fuller Neighborhood House. Our first programs were offered to help underserved low- and moderate-income communities, which helped address widespread unemployment and underemployment. Over the past year, MFH's commitment to our communities has continued by offering:

Food Pantry

  • Rescued 52,766 lbs of food that would otherwise be discarded. This food was enough for 42,212 meals for people facing food insecurity with a value of $94,451
  • Our food pantry have impacted over 900 households (over 1,000 people), equating to over 8,000 visits

Youth Programming

  • Opened a second afterschool program in one of Cambridge public schools. Served over 80 youth for afterschool and summer programming at both locations
  • Partnered with E-Inc, Science for Scientists and Life Science for Girls to incorporate STEM activities to our program

Community Advancement Program

  • Assisted just over 200 households by providing comprehensive case management services
  • Provided Emergency financial assistance totaling over 118K to our client community
  • Over 50% of clients gained employment/job training
  • Conducted multiple of workshops on Computer Literacy, Job Readiness, & Financial Literacy

We Fulfill This Mission by Providing The Following Programming
